In the thesis, we focused on designing a mobile application for managing finances, with a strong emphasis on user experience throughout the process. One of the main goals of the application was to provide a quick input for financial transactions, requiring minimal input from the user, to encourage regular tracking of their income and expenses.
In the theoretical part, we presented various types of mobile applications, the importance of user experience, and different methods that can be used when designing them. We also defined the user interface and presented Gestalt principles, which we applied to our app when designing the interface.
In the practical part, we initially carried out a quantitative survey using Google Forms. Then, we analysed similar existing applications. Based on the conducted interviews, we created two personas and defined the information architecture. Using this information, we created wireframes in the Figma program and used it to create the first version of the application prototype. We continued to design the user interface and made a final version of the prototype. To evaluate the user experience, we used UEQ and MeCUE validated questionnaires. The evaluation with participants confirmed that we succeeded in creating a good user experience and an intuitive user interface.
The result of the thesis is a prototype application for managing finances, which provides users with a simple and understandable way to track their finances.
