Abstract
Uvod: Eksplozivna mišična moč je v tekmovalnem in rekreativnem športu pogosto pomembna za športni rezultat. Predhodne mišične kontrakcije vplivajo na mehansko delovanje mišičnih kontrakcij pozneje. Utrujajoče mišične kontrakcije poslabšajo mišično moč, toda kratkotrajne mišične kontrakcije visoke intenzitete, izvedene med ogrevanjem športnikov, lahko povečajo mišično moč in s tem vplivajo tudi na skakanje. Namen: Namen diplomskega dela je s pregledom znanstvene in strokovne literature ugotoviti, kako poaktivacijska potenciacija vpliva na višino navpičnega skoka in katere vadbene metode so najbolj učinkovite za doseganje tega pojava. Metode dela: Iskanje literature je potekalo po podatkovnih zbirkah PubMed in PMC z različnimi kombinacijami ključnih besed v angleškem jeziku. Rezultati: V pregled literature je bilo vključenih sedem raziskav, v katerih so avtorji preverjali vpliv poaktivacijske potenciacije na višino navpičnega skoka. Rezultati so pokazali, da poaktivacijska potenciacija lahko izboljša višino navpičnega skoka tudi za 5,9 %. Njen vpliv je zelo odvisen od protokola, ki je uporabljen za spodbujanje poaktivacijske potenciacije. Razprava in zaključek: Iz pregledanih raziskav lahko sklepamo, da je poaktivacijska potenciacija učinkovita pri povečanju višine navpičnega skoka predvsem pri športnikih oz. fizično močnejših posameznikih.

Title:Effect of post-activation potentiation of skeletal muscles on vertical jump height - a literature review : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: Explosive power of skeletal muscles is often important for sports performance in both competitive and recreational sports. Earlier muscle contractions affect the mechanical action of subsequent muscle contractions. Fatiguing muscle contractions impair muscle performance, but short-duration, high-intensity muscle contractions performed during an athlete's warm-up can increase muscle performance and thus affect jumping. Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to determine, through a review of scientific and professional literature, how post-activation potentiation affects vertical jump height and which methods are most effective in achieving this. Methods: Literature searches were conducted using the PubMed and PMC databases with various combinations of keywords in English. Results: Seven studies were included in the literature review, in which the authors investigated the effect of post-activation potentiation on vertical jump height. The results show that post-activation potentiation can improve vertical jump height by as much as 5,9 %. Its impact is highly dependent on the protocol used to enhance post-activation potentiation. Discussion and Conclusion: From the reviewed studies, it can be concluded that post-activation potentiation is effective in increasing vertical jump height, especially in athletes or physically stronger individuals.
