Abstract
V prvem delu diplomske naloge so predstavljeni železniški tir in obe možnosti izvedbe železniškega tira. Podrobno so opisane tudi tirnice in izračun napetosti v tirnicah, ki nastanejo zaradi temperaturnih sprememb. V nadaljevanju so opisane težave, do katerih pride v tirnicah zaradi vedno bolj vročih poletij, in kako se v drugih državah soočajo z izbočenjem tirnic. Osredotočil sem se predvsem na ukrep barvanja tirnic z belo barvo. V zadnjem delu sem izvedel poskus, v katerem primerjam temperaturo bele in nepobarvane tirnice. Na podlagi izmerjenih temperatur sem izračunal sile in napetosti, ki nastanejo zaradi temperaturnih sprememb v obeh tirnicah, ter predstavil končne ugotovitve poskusa.

Title:Forces and stresses in the rail due to temperature
Abstract:
The first part of the thesis presents the railway track and the two railway track options. It also describes the rails in detail and the calculation of the stresses in the rails due to temperature changes. It addresses the problems that are occurring in the rails as a result of increasingly hot summers, and how other countries are dealing with buckling of the rails. I have focused in particular on the measure of painting the rails white. In the last part, I carried out an experiment comparing the temperature of white and unpainted rails. Based on the measured temperatures, I calculated the forces and stresses due to the temperature changes in the two rails and presented the final findings of the experiment.
