Regularly enrolled foreign students at the University of Ljubljana learn Slovenian in courses in Slovenian as a second language as part of the Year Plus module. Teaching within this module is first highlighted from the organizer’s point of view (non-linguistic factors such as space available at the university and students’ timetables play an important role). Abrief presentation of the methods (the groups of speakers are linguistically homogeneous, and so the emphasis is on contrastive teaching) and other features of the teaching is accompanied by the students’ experiences as seen from course evaluations.
