The article deals with the principle of language culture, according to which terminology of Slovene origin has precedence over borrowed terminology. We present Jože Toporišič's attempt to replace some already established terms from the field of terminology (terminology, term, terminological dictionary) with terms of Slovene origin. This terminological intervention was not completely successful because a very important aspect in terminology, namely terminological agreement, was not considered.
