The master's thesis tries to illuminate the celebration of independent Slovenia and explain the background of the celebration in the speeches, emphases, opinions, and positions of the people who contributed to the independence of Slovenia. The celebration is not only a cultural program, singing or feasting. It is also an opportunity for people to meet, celebrate, talk, and exchange views, facts, and opinions. The celebration of the round number anniversary of Slovenia's independence in 2021 was something special. The media did not only explain the causes or consequences of the anniversary celebration and cultural programs, but also gave different critical opinions and intellectual approaches about the political, economic, and social development of the country in the last thirty years of independent Slovenia. The political background prevailed. There was dissatisfaction and distrust of the government among the people. The aggravating factor for the economic and social cause was the coronavirus epidemic, as it eradicates public life. Cultural causes were reflected in the media, as there were many fluctuations between politics and the media. Municipal and national newspapers published articles on the ten - day war after the declaration of independence of Slovenia and articles on how the inhabitants of Slovenia perceive the current economic, social, and political situation in Slovenia. The cultural program, such as exhibitions, concerts, meetings, stimulated a positive atmosphere among the people. A negative atmosphere can weaken the situation. Important are good will, positive communication, cooperation.
