In the master's thesis, we used geoinformatic systems and Landsat 8 satellite images to calculate air temperatures in the area of the Municipality of Ljubljana. We also created cross-sections through urbanized and green areas. On the basis of them, we made a query related to ground use, altitude and air temperature. We eliminated 2% of the highest values from the obtained calculations of air temperature measurements. In the area of the urban heat island, we included also the buildings, which we divided into three categories and calculated their average height, number of buildings and their parts, as well as surface. The parameters proved that the height does not have the greatest influence on the temperature levels, since the highest temperatures were recorded in industrial zones and shopping centers instead of city center where the buildings are on average the highest. In the calendar winter of 2020/2021, we also carried out temperature measurements by bicycle and car. The bicycle routes were approximately 10 km long and ran in the city districts, while the two car routes ran from the direction of Bežigrad along the city outskirts. Weather conditions during the winter were monitored through seven weather stations around Ljubljana as well. On the basis of the obtained data, we also made calculations of temperature variables, air pressure values, solar radiation and amount of precipitation.
