Abstract
Analiza sekundarnih podatkov nam osvetli problematiko lažnega samostojnega podjetništva, opravljeni spletni intervjuji pa nas pripeljejo do pojasnitve razlogov, zakaj postati in ostati samostojni podjetnik.

Title:Self-employment as a way out of unemployment: analysis of the reasons for becoming and remaining self-employed : magistrsko delo
Abstract:
Self-employment has become an increasingly common form of employment in Slovenia since 2008. The year coincides with the beginning of a major financial crisis and the implementation of a state measure to promote self-employment between 2008 and 2013. In our research we determine how unemployment or the threat of it affects the decision of becoming self-employed. Our main goal is to identify and analyze people's reasons for becoming and remaining self-employed. Analysis of secondary data sheds light on the issue of bogus self-employment, while online interviews provide explanations for becoming and remaining self-employed. We conclude that decision is influenced by push and pull factors, associated with economic and social conditions. A blossoming economy creates a pull factor, while a time of crises and high unemployment creates a push factor. The push factor is detected when a person finds themselves unemployed, which can result in bogus self-employment. In addition to the impact of a major financial crisis, our goal was also to investigate the impact of the health crisis in 2020 and 2021. We realized that during this time self-employment in Slovenia progressed in a positive direction, which led to new forms and better understanding of it. It is becoming an increasingly popular form of employment and therefore we propose a few solutions for resolving the most pressing issue of self-employment, social protection.
