The thesis deals with the scrapping and decommissioning of end-of-life vehicles. The initial aim was to illustrate and explain the laws and the process of the surrender and decommissioning of end-of-life motor vehicles. I have divided the thesis into four parts, namely in the first part I talk about the laws on IMV in Slovenia and the European Union, I continue with the statistics of end-of-life vehicles in Slovenia and Europe, in the third part I present the circular economy and the role of the European Union, and in the fourth part I present step by step the decommissioning of a car in the company Dinos d.o.o., which I also briefly introduce. I also asked Dinos Ltd. for a short interview, which they were happy to answer. In the interview, I wanted to find out how they as a company deal with the decommissioning of vehicles, whether they carry out the decommissioning process in an environmentally friendly way and how they are prepared for the decommissioning of electric vehicles, which will soon dominate the roads.
In the near future, we can expect to be driving cars that can be almost 100% decommissioned and recycled, thus helping to protect the environment. This is also the aim of all legislation governing ELVs. The almost complete
decommissioning of vehicles is made possible by the latest devices, such as the SEDA device.
