Entrepreneurship and the beginning of an entrepreneurial path is a great challenge for many individuals. As an entrepreneur, a person must take risks at once and needs to embark on an unknown path. Starting any entrepreneurial path is a big decision and due to ignorance of the entrepreneurial environment, many people prefer not to start a business. Thus, everyone can avoid the problem by recognizing what types of support are available in the government. A good knowledge of the stimulating entrepreneurial environment enables individuals to more easily access either counselling, financial resources, education, or training that will contribute to the entrepreneurial path. Just as each country has its own laws and policies, so does each country provide different approaches that promote the entrepreneurial orientation of the population. By promoting entrepreneurship, each country strengthens its economic growth while providing more jobs for the population.
In this thesis we focused on the comparison of the supportive environment for entrepreneurship in Slovenia and the Netherlands. We wanted to find out which country provides better conditions for starting a business and which offers more incentives within the business environment. The thesis was created based on data collection with quantitative and qualitative data. In the theoretical part, we used the method of description and compilation, and in the empirical part, we used secondary research, as a method of reviewing various articles. We reviewed the literature and sources and based on this we found that it is better to set up a company in the Netherlands based on research, as the supportive environment there offers more different help than in Slovenia. At the same time, it is important to be aware that the Netherlands also has more competition as a result. The main finding of the work is that with a good vision and entrepreneurial attitude we can succeed in Slovenia as well as in the Netherlands.
