Abstract

Title:Graphic design of the book »Regnum Sclavorum« - The Kingdom of the Slavs of priest Dukljanin
Abstract:
Priest of Duklja‘s Sclavorum Regnum is the first known written historical book of the South Slavs. As an important cultural monument of the Montenegrin Middle Ages, it represent a special place. Thus, it was necessary to thoroughly explain the historical context, the use of alphabets, typography and writing systems, and the graphic design of the manuscript. To compare the influence of the West and the East on graphic design in Montenegro at the time. The very approach to redesigning the book gives a certain author - designer freedom. That freedom is used to break the medieval canon during the creation of the manuscript. Thus, instead of medieval illustrations, we use digital illustrations and a contemporary way of book design.
