The master's thesis presents a brief history of the philosophy of technology and the philosophical trends in this field that have developed so far. One key line of research that incorporates phenomenological ideas is postphenomenology. This philosophical study combines both the philosophy of pragmatism and phenomenology, trying to give the structure of experience that occurs in the relationship between a person and a technical artifact. As an example of modern technology, the Internet and online platforms on which people visit on a daily basis are discussed. To explain the meaning of these technical artifact, I also refer to Heidegger's and Kierkegaard's phenomenologically existential contribution. Heidegger's hermeneutics of Dasein (German word to signify human being) helps us understand what it is like to be human and thus the way of being human in the world. The key here is that a technical artifact is not just a passive matter in a person's life, but actively determines our understanding and perception of the world. That is why Kierkegaard's existentialism presents us with an attitude that makes sense to embrace in the uncertainty of life and the oversaturation of information, which the individual experiences in modern times.
