Youth has an important role in Church and in the world. Even pope John Paul II and both of his successors, Benedict XVI and Francis, were aware of that. With the World Youth Day specifically, pope John Paul II wanted to emphasize the role of youth and offer them attention for a couple of days. Places where WYD have already occurred, messages from popes to the youth through homilies and influences of those meetings are going to be explored further, ending this task with a search for connections between WYD, the Catechesis rule book and the Concluding document of plenary council in Slovenia. Finally, a look into the future will follow to establish how WYD can invigorate and help pastoral work in Slovenian Church.
