In the first part of the thesis, the life and work of Kristina Brenkova is presented and followed by a chronological list of her works. A chapter about the fairy tale follows. Here, I have to point out some definitions and models and then focus on the importance of fairy tales for children according to Marjana Kobe's theory. What follows is a theoretical definition of a modern fairy tale, which is defined as a short modern fairy tale and fantastic narrative. I conclude the first part with a detailed definition of the fantastic narrative according to Maria Nikolayeva, where I focus on the magic law, magic space, magic time, magic passage and finally the magic impact.
In the second part, I focus on three literary works by Kristina Brenkova. In the works Deklica Delfina in lisica Zvitorepka (1984), Srebrna račka – zlata račka (1975) and Prigode koze Kunigunde (1984), I have focused on the analysis of the works using the theory of Maria Nikolayeva. I have defined her works in terms of the magic law, magic space, magic time, magic passage and the magic impact.
