Abstract
Pomaga zmanjšati klinične obiske, poenostavi celoten postopek izdelave protez, skrajša čas zdravljenja in izboljša natančnost dokončnih protez. Pregledali smo strokovno literaturo v angleškem jeziku, in sicer spletne znanstvene članke, revije in knjige. Praktični del smo izvedli v zobnem laboratoriju skupaj z mentorjem.

Title:Production of temporary total denture with stereolithography : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: A temporary total denture or immediate total denture is a removable dental prosthesis that is made immediately after the extraction of all teeth. It is used to maintain the appearance of the patient and to provide a surgical splint that covers cavities after extraction, aids in wound healing and protects the extraction site. Making a trial denture is the first digital step in making a total denture and allows you to determine the occlusion, the height of the bite and the shape, color and size of the teeth, which in the case of traditional production would be determined with bite templates and an additional visit to the doctor's office. The production of trial dentures begins with computer-aided design in software and continues with computer-aided production. It helps reduce clinic visits, simplify the entire process of making dentures, save treatment time and improve the accuracy of the final total denture. CAD/CAM technology refers to digital design and manufacturing. CAD software is used to design the geometry, shape and properties of an object, while CAM software is used for manufacturing. The CAM manufacturing process, can among others include additive technology and subtractive technology. Additive technologies used in dentistry include selective laser melting, stereolithography, fused deposion modeling, digital light processing, and liquid crystal display. Purpose: The purpose of the thesis is to present additive technologies used in dentistry, with an emphasis on stereolithography. We focused on removable prosthetics and presented the digital fabrication of temporary and trial denture. Methods: We used a descriptive method in the theoretical part of our diploma work. We reviewed professional literature in English obtained from online scientific articles, journals and books. The practical part was performed in the dental laboratory together with the mentor. Using a 3D printer, we printed a monolithic total prosthesis made of white acrylate to serve as a trial prosthesis in the experiment, later we characterized it with inks to serve as a temporary prosthesis. Results: In the results, we show the process of making a temporary and trial total denture. We designed the prosthesis in the 3Shape program, and then successfully produced it from light-curing polymer with the help of stereolithography. The diploma work presents the entire course of work on the manufacture of the product, supported by a pictorial presentation. Discussion and conclusion: Modern technologies are increasingly used in dentistry. Current innovations and their development in digital dentistry have successfully led to the production of removable dental prostheses using CAD/CAM technologies, which are being chosen by more and more dental laboratories, as they save a lot of time, yet the products are precise and of high quality. Additive technology is expected to continue to improve, just as subtractive technology did in its early stages. Since the printer, unlike the milling machine is smaller, cheaper, faster, more accurate and more environmentally friendly, since the consumption of material is significantly lower, the printing technology has the potential to be used in all areas of dentistry, including removable prosthetics.
