In the thesis the influence of employee satisfaction and dissatisfaction at work is described. Employee satisfaction at work is reflected in higher employee productivity, better work results, good mutual relations and, last but not least, better employee well-being in and outside the work environment. Meanwhile, dissatisfaction is reflected in low productivity, the possibility of a greater number of conflict situations between employees, poorer creativity at work and general dissatisfaction of employees, which indirectly affects the latter's private life.
As part of the thesis, the factors of employee satisfaction at work in the selected organization were analysed. The research was conducted using the survey method among employees in the Department of Informatics at the University Clinical Center Ljubljana.
The results of the research show that employees in the selected department of the studied organization are generally satisfied with their work. The majority of respondents are also satisfied with mutual relations in the organization.
The opportunity for improving employee satisfaction at work was highlighted in the research in the field of interpersonal relationships. The latter are very important to the participants in the research. Poor interpersonal relationship mutual relations consequently impact other factors, such as the level of trust in colleagues, which was also rated worse in the survey in relation to other factors with which employees are satisfied. In this area, there are possible improvements that the organization can achieve by taking into account the suggestions for improvement from the employees. These suggestions can be obtained through regular, more detailed surveys and thus increase employee satisfaction at work. Some suggestions were made by the respondents in the research that was carried out as part of this thesis.
In the survey, the individual's status in the organization, the opportunity for advancement and the motivation for professional development were also rated worse. An opportunity for improvement is possible in the aforementioned factors. In order to achieve these improvements, close cooperation between the manager and the employees who highlighted these factors is necessary.
