Abstract
Kot konstrukt medijev in njegovih podkategorij nastopata video produkcija in filmsko ustvarjanje, obsežna poklica s skoraj neomejenimi možnostmi in zaledjem še večje industrije. Namen diplomske naloge je bil predstaviti proces video produkcije in filmske ustvaritve s ciljem upodobitve izbrane vsebine v obliki kratkega filma skozi najprej pregled osnov filmske upodobitve in nadalje odnose posameznih korakov nastanka. V sklopu teoretičnega dela diplomske naloge so bile preučene in analizirane tri stopnje video produkcije (pred-produkcija, produkcija in postprodukcija) in postavljeni začetni temelji, kot sta pomen ideje in perspektiva prave miselnosti. V raziskovalnem delu naloge je bilo preučeno načrtovanje, pisanje scenarija, izbira igralcev, iskanje lokacije, opreme in najema prostorov, logistike, snemanja in reševanja snemalnih izzivov, prenos datotek, raba ustrezne programske opreme in montaže, definiranje barvne palete in zvoka, marketing in druge tehnične podrobnosti.

Title:Depiction of short film Odyssey
Abstract:
In the creation of fiction, there are multiple principles to be followed to ensure that the process is successful and complete in the end. Although the number of obstacles that can arise along the way, caused by both internal and external factors, can be proven overwhelming. When you fully develop and take initiative, new difficulties arise in creating stories and in transferring particles of a creative vision into the real world — to other people so that they too can imagine it step by step. Fiction and the creation of worlds can come from many sources and in many forms, but the most prominent and easily accessible to the average person today is digital media. One construct of media and its subcategories is video production and filmmaking, a vast profession with almost unlimited possibilities and an even bigger industry behind it. Like anything that is widespread and offers many possibilities, it is also undeniably contained with various challenges and problems to solve, the first being the issue of originality. The purpose and aim of this thesis is to present the process of video production and filmmaking through a product in the form of a short film, followed by the basics of filmmaking and other contexts. This thesis analysed all three stages of video production (pre-production, production and postproduction) and laid the groundwork for getting started, such as the importance of an idea and the perspective of the right mindset. The thesis also examined every single task that a phase entails, from planning, writing a script, casting, finding locations, equipment and rental, logistics, shooting on set and problem solving — to file transferring, software and editing, colour and sound design, exporting, distribution, marketing, and all other technical details. With all these principles and methods, we managed to complete our year and a half project and deliver a fully executed, coherent and conceptual video product that was further distributed in the form of a short film.
