Abstract
V magistrskem delu je izpostavljena predvsem primerjava teoretičnih pogledov in razmišljanj ter dognanj strokovnjakov literarnega področja in vrednotenje ter mišljenje staršev o sodobnih slikanicah ter predvsem kakovosti tovrstnih knjig za otroke. Definicija in tipologija slikanice to vrsto knjige uvrščata na področje mladinske književnosti, ki je primarno namenjena mladim bralcem vse do 18. leta starosti. Definicije in strokovna dognanja različnih teoretikov; tako slovenskih kot tujih so si v svojem bistvu podobna, velikokrat pa je omenjeno tudi vprašanje o kakovosti, s čim se podrobneje ukvarjajo ne samo strokovnjaki, temveč tudi žiranti, ki sestavljajo žirijo in odgovorne osebe, ki slikanicam podeljujejo razne nagrade in priznanja (Zlata Hruška, Desetnica, nagrada Astrid Lindgren in druge nagrade). Sama kakovost knjig in vprašanj o tem, kaj izbrati in predvsem kateri so tisti elementi oziroma dejavniki, ki vplivajo na izbor posamezne slikanice za otroka, se tičejo tudi odraslih, v prvi vrsti staršev in vzgojiteljev ter vzgojiteljic, ki jih uporabljajo pri dejavnostih v vrtcih. V empiričnem delu so anketirani starši izpostavili, da se zavedajo pomembnosti kakovosti izbranih slikanic, izrazili pa so tudi svoje izkušnje in mnenja, ki vplivajo na njihov izbor. To so predvsem kakovostno in starostno primerno besedilo, ki mora biti slovnično ustrezno, ter ilustracije, ki morajo sodelovati z besedilom in otroku pomagati ustvarjati zgodbo. Pomembna jim je tematika v slikanici, ki mora biti izražena na primeren način, literarni liki pa morajo otroku omogočati, da se lahko vanje vživi in o se o prebranem kasneje s starši, sovrstniki ali drugimi osebami tudi pogovarja in spoznava svet okoli sebe.

Title:Evalvation of the quality of modern picture books
Abstract:
The master's thesis compares theoretical views and reflections, as well as the findings of experts in the literary field and the opinions of parents on modern picture books. In terms of definition and typology, picture books belong to the field of youth literature, which is primarily intended for readers under the age of 18. Definitions and expertise of various theorists; both Slovenian and foreign ones are similar, and the question of quality is also often mentioned, which is dealt with in detail not only by experts but also by jurors who make up the jury and responsible persons who award various prizes and recognitions to picture books (Zlata Hruška, Desetnica, Astrid Lindgren Award, and other awards). The very quality of the books and the questions about what to choose and, above all, what are the elements or factors that influence the selection of a particular picture book for a child, also concern adults, primarily parents, and educators who use them in activities in kindergartens. In the empirical part, the interviewed parents pointed out that they are aware of the importance of the quality of the selected picture books, and they also expressed their experiences and opinions that influence their selection. These are mainly high-quality and age-appropriate text, which must be grammatically appropriate, and illustrations, which must cooperate with the text and help the child create a story. The picture book's theme must be expressed appropriately, and the literary characters must allow the child to empathize with them and discuss what he has read with parents, teachers, or others.
