The concept of the sublime, which Kant elaborates in Critique of Judgement, is not congruent with what we can read about the sublime in Zupančič's Ethics of the Real and various articles by the author and Žižek. The classification of the sublime, which we formulate in the course of our work, more clearly defines the concept of the sublime and offers a new concept of the Sübelime as the other side of the sublime emotion. Descriptive and comparative analysis of secondary sources extends to the scientific discovery of new concepts, which could more precisely define the central concept of sublime and thus, in Lacanian terms, symbolize a part of the real. We find that the concept of Sübelime is a suitable addition to the classification of the sublime, which we formulate in the course of our work, and that the concept of the sublime is broader than it first seems to us. The present master's thesis, which culturally combines both philosophical and theoretical-psychoanalytic sources, offers a theoretical analysis of the concept of sublime emotion applied to the covid-19 during a pandemic.
