The dissertation presents presents the Mirna language, Lower Carniola dialect group, more specifically to the eastern subgroup of the Lower Carniola dialect group. After the introduction, the town of Mirna and its history are briefly introduced. In the following part, the Mirna language is placed in the (sub)dialect, where the history of the Slovenian language and the characteristics of the eastern subgroup of the Lower Carniola dialect group are also briefly described. The empirical part of the thesis consists of a phonetically transcribed recording of the speech of each informant, followed by a synchronic analysis of accents and voices in comparison with the literary language. In the last part, the analysis is based on the older features of Mirna speech, with a note on those that have been at least partially replaced by more general (provincial) colloquial ones. The final chapter is devoted to the collection Glasovi (1988-), which will include (some of) the texts collected here. Here, the transcribed texts are edited in notation and prepared for direct inclusion in one of the books in the collection. Principles for a simplified professional transcription are also given.
