The master's thesis is based on the analysis of the visibility of one of the barriers of the late Roman defence system of the Claustra Alpium Iuliarum. With the help of the QGIS program, I will research the visibility from the Ajdovski zid barrier to its surroundings and the visibility of the barrier from selected points. I will present assumptions about the original appearance of the barrier and prominent elements that might have dictated the course of the Ajdovski zid barrier. Based on the research questions, I will present the interpretation and findings from the analyzes that relate to the visibility of the Ajdovski zid. By analyzing the visibility, I will try to understand the relationship of the barrier with the Turnovšče tower and the fortress on the location Hrib. I will try to understand and present the visible relationship between the Ajdovski zid and the next barrier Lanišče. Given the differences in the number of recorded towers of the Ajdovski zid from Müllner's records onwards, I will check whether all his documented towers were necessary from the point of view of visibility; visibility needs might indicate that they actually existed and subsequently were not preserved to the point of being recorded by later researchers.
