The subject of the bachelor's thesis is the determination of four mechanical properties of beech wood on the basis of a conducted research in bending and the determination of the linear relationship between them on the basis of the calculated correlation coefficient. We analyzed 74 test pieces of beech wood, dimensions 10×5×5, cut in such a way that there are no visible defects. The research was carried out according to the SIST EN 408:2010 + A1:2012 standard with the use of the four-point bending test method. In the first part of the diploma thesis, I described all the recommendations taken into account for this research and gradually described the entire course of the research, together with all the preparatory work. In the second part, I described the analyzed mechanical properties, supplemented by sketches and equations. Then, in the third part, I described the method and equations by which I performed the calculation and showed the obtained values. With this, we gained a better sense of what values of the bending properties of beech can be expected and determined sufficient correlation coefficients between them. In the conclusion, I emphasized the similarity of the obtained value compared to the values from a similar study on beech and compared our values with the values of the properties of spruce.
