I performed reactions between different purine bases and silicon dioxide dissolved in
hydrofluoric acid. Purine bases that were used were xanthine, hypoxanthine, theobromine
and caffeine. The final products were new compounds, which I analysed with IR-spectroscopy, elemental analysis, x-ray structure analysis and x-ray diffraction analysis.
Reactions were performed in two different stochiometric ratios between reactants, which,
in some cases, resulted in different final products.
