Abstract
V zaključni nalogi je predstavljena integracija naprav v krmilni sistem linearnega pospeševalnika, ki se uporabljajo za izvajanje temperaturnih meritev, meritev moči snopa pospešenih delcev ter krmiljenje klystrona. Integracija naprav se je začela z določitvijo potreb stranke in arhitekturne zasnove krmilnih aplikacij ter testiranjem delovanja in obnašanja naprav, ki jih je bilo potrebno integrirati. Sledila je arhitekturna zasnova EPICS aplikacij. Naslednji korak je bila implementacija aplikacij ter grafičnih vmesnikov namenjenih operaterjem naprav. Pred predajo produkta stranki je bilo izvedeno testiranje programske opreme s pomočjo simulatorjev, ustvarjenih na podlagi rezultatov testiranja naprav ter pravih naprav lociranih v laboratoriju stranke. Zaključek integracije je predstavljalo pisanje uporabniške dokumentacije, uporabniških navodil ter testnega procesa, s katerim stranka potrdi pravilno integracijo naprave. Za integracijo naprav v krmilni sistem pospeševalnika se uporablja EPICS okvir. Ustvarjene EPICS aplikacije omogočajo realnočasno krmiljenje naprav, branje merjenih vrednosti iz naprav ter izpostavljanje vseh relevantnih podatkov o napravi na omrežju. Jedro EPICS aplikacije je baza podatkov z definiranimi funkcionalnostmi aplikacije, ki vsebuje procesne spremenljivke, v katerih so zapisane vrednosti signalov.

Title:Integration of devices into distributed control system of linear accelerator
Abstract:
The contents of this Master’s thesis present the integration of devices used for measurement of temperature, measurement of the beam power and controlling a klystron into a control system of a linear particle accelerator. Device integration starts with gathering of specifications from the customer and the creation of a macroscopic architecture of the control applications. Additionally, the integrated devices need to be tested to check how they operate and communicate with other devices. In the next step the control applications and the graphical user interfaces are implemented. The last step of device integration is rigorous testing of the implemented applications with different device simulators and physical devices. Before delivery and validation testing with the customer, user manuals and test procedures are created which ensure customer satisfaction and software quality. The implementation of control applications for particle accelerators the EPICS framework is used. EPICS applications enable real time control, reading measurement data from devices and exposing the measurement data to the network and the device operators. At the core of an EPICS application there is a database, which defines the functionality of the application and contains the process variables which hold measurement data.
