In my bachlores thesis I explore an individuals relationship to the flow of time and to the way value is assigned to time according to 21th century capitalism. I deal with moments that arise when an individual conciously or unconciously experiences the flow of time differently than it is meassured and valued on a societal level focussing on concequental feelings of nostalgia and estrangement. I will adress some key differences in the way we experience, think, write and talk about time and the interlacement of the temporal and spatial dimention that shows itself in these actions. My findings are based on the writing of Svtlana Boym and her understanding of reflective nostalgia as well as Reinhard Kosselecks concepts of horizon of expectation and space of experience.
