Pot od zbirnika do prvega prevajalnika

Diplomsko delo raziskuje razvoj prevajalnika, kot bi lahko potekal v zgodnjih letih računalništva. Za ta namen je definiran C-ju podoben programski jezik, njegov prevajalnik pa je v celoti implementiran le s pomočjo zbirniškega jezika izbrane procesorske arhitekture. Za pomoč pri implementaciji je bil definiran še dodatni jezik, ki je služil kot vmesni korak med zbirnikom in končnim jezikom. Pri tem so bili uporabljeni nekateri principi razvoja sodobnih prevajalnikov, izključujoč uporabe drugega višjenivojskega programskega jezika, ki je dandanes prevladujoč način za uvajanje novih jezikov.

• Title: All the way from an assembler to the first compiler

Abstract

The thesis explores the development of a compiler as it occurred in the early years of computing. For this purpose, a C-like language is defined, and a compiler for it is written using only assembly. Modern principles of compiler design will be used, excluding the use of a higher-level programming language, which is nowadays the predominant way of implementing new languages.
