The thesis addresses basics of anatomy and physiology of electrical conduction system in the human heart and the placement and the role of the His bundle in it. We will also get acquainted with the method of capturing unipolar and bipolar signals of electrical activity of the heart - the electrocardiogram (ECG) and the intracardiac electrogram (iEGM). All data collected for the processing of such signals (with emphasis on the specifics of His bundle activity) will be used to develop and test an algorithm for detecting His bundle activity.
The task of this thesis is the detection of the activation moment of the His bundle in the recording of the intracardiac electrogram (iEGM). His bundle activity cannot be seen in just any iEGM recording – it is only seen in the one taken in close proximity to the His bundle inside the heart. Various problems can arise with this method of iEGM capture because the His bundle represents a small set of cells and its activity is a very brief phenomenon. Electrical activity of other parts of the heart also appears in this signal, which is a disturbance and makes the detection of His bundle activity a challenge.
