V diplomski nalogi se ukvarjam s temo neuspeha. Morda to počnem uspešno ali neuspešno, saj se obeh pojmov drži paradoks. Raziščem njegovo negativno konotacijo in kako se je odnos do njega spreminjal v preteklosti, tako v umetnosti kot vsakdanjem življenju. Opazim, da ima dojemanje neuspeha v umetnosti drugačno vrednost in prikažem, kako nam njegova uporaba lahko dobro služi. Razložim tudi razliko med napako in neuspehom, saj sta tesno povezana pojma. Podrobneje opišem Sizifovo delo, ki je osnova za praktično delo – video performans z naslovom 'Nikamor hitro'. Tako se naslonim na umetnike, ki se s to so se ukvarjali s to temo od leta 1960 naprej in se medtem sprašujem o produktivnosti tako posameznika kot družbe.

Abstract

In the bachelor's thesis, I discuss the topic of failure. Perhaps I do it successfully or I fail to do it because both concepts hold paradoxes. I explore its negative connotation and how attitudes towards it have changed in the past, both in art and in everyday life. I note that the perception of failure in art has a different value and I show how its use can be useful. Later, I explain the difference between mistake and failure since they are connected terms. I describe the Sisyphean task in more detail. It is the basis for my practical work – a video performance titled ‘Nowhere Fast’. Thus, I refer to artists who have dealt with the subject from the 1960s onwards. In the meantime, I wonder about the productivity of both, the individual and society nowadays.
