Abstract
Zaključek dela bo vseboval strokovno ovrednotenje ustreznosti posameznih identificiranih slovarjev in moje mnenje glede uporabe posameznih slovarjev in glosarjev v praksi.

Title:WEB MARITIME MONOLINGUAL AND BILINGUAL DICTIONARIES AND GLOSSARIES
Abstract:
This degree thesis presents various dictionaries and glossaries in the maritime world and their typology. Features of printed and online monolingual and multilingual maritime dic-tionaries and glossaries and their visual versions, if they exist, will be presented. The fol-lowing elements will be presented for each identified dictionary/glossary in the maritime domain: name of the dictionary/glossary, its typology, online link (if applicable), publisher, year of publication, number of entries, short dictionary/glossary description, and examples of dictionary/glossary entries. The maritime industry is a global undertaking. Therefore, there is a multitude of maritime terms that can and need to be translated from one language to another. Many examples derive from English, which is considered the international mari-time language, but we have equivalents for almost any word or expression in other lan-guages as well. Some words or expressions might seem unique to us because in authentic communication we simply use their English versions instead of our mother languages. The conclusion of the thesis contains an evaluation of the relevance and usefulness of the identi-fied dictionaries/glossaries for practitioners and students in the maritime domain.
