Abstract

Title:Virtual textile embrace
Abstract:
This undergraduate thesis, entitled "Virtual Textile Embrace", contains the theoretical basis of the areas key for a better understanding of this work, as well as the practical implementation of 3D animation with the help of Blender programme for creating 3D animations. The purpose of this thesis was to design and depict a 3D space for relaxation content and outline the creative process behind it. The thesis is divided into two parts - a theoretical part and an experimental part. The theoretical part contains a description of a set of repetitive relaxing video clips called "oddly satisfying", the popularity of which has grown immensely in recent years. These videos can also consist of sound effects that trigger an autonomous sensory meridian response in certain individuals. Moreover, touch between people, and of different textures of textiles and textile products, is also presented, as is the virtual world, colour and light, with their impact on humans highlighted. When presenting virtual worlds, the emphasis is mainly on worlds that have relaxing content - worlds to which an individual can resort after a long day. The experimental part focuses on the explanation of my inspiration and the creation of scenes that are later turned into animations containing relaxing content. Each scene contains textiles or a textile object that move around a given space. With their slow, harmonic movement, they create a calm atmosphere in which we can relax as we watch. The scenes or animations are combined into a final video, to which calm music is added. We conclude the thesis with a discussion of our findings. There, we present a visualisation of each scene and a more detailed description of individual scenes.
