Lik Narcisa pri Ovidiju, Paulu Valéryju in Borisu A. Novaku

Diplomsko delo obravnava lik Narcisa v pesnitvi Narcis govori Paula Valéryja in v sonetu z odmevom Narcis in Eho Borisa A. Novaka. Kot antično verzijo mita o Narcisu sem uporabila Ovidijeve Metamorfoze, dotaknila pa sem se tudi nekaterih drugih avtorjev, ki so ustvarjali na ta motiv. Prvi del diplomskega dela je namenjen seznanitvi z zgodbo in zato obravnava prve zapise tega mita, drugi, obsežnejši del, pa se osredotoča na Valéryjevo pesnitev in Novakov sonet ter na razlike med njimi. Cilj diplomskega dela je preučiti spremembe, skozi katere je šel junak antičnega mita, da je dobil današnjo podobo.

• Title: The Character of Narcissus by Ovidius, Paul Valéry and Boris A. Novak

Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with the character of Narcissus in the poem Narcissus speaks by Paul Valéry and the echo sonnet Narcissus and Echo by Boris A. Novak. I used Ovid’s Metamorphoses as an ancient version of the myth of Narcissus, and I also mentioned some other authors who worked on this motif. The first part of the thesis is intended to introduce the story and therefore deals with the first records of this myth, while the second, more extensive part focuses on the poems written by Valéry and Novak and on the differences between them. The aim of the thesis is to study the changes that the hero of the ancient myth went through in order to get his present image.
