Abstract
Cilj diplomske naloge je bila sinteza in karakterizacija alkil jodidov, pridobljenih iz alkil alkoholov, ki smo jih v nadaljevanju uporabili za reakcije spajanja s terminalnim alkinom v prisotnosti nikljevega katalizatorja. Sintezo smo izvedli na različnih alkil alkoholih ter ugotovili, da reakcija poteče, poleg na literaturno opisanih alkil alkoholih, tudi na nekaterih drugih substratih. Uporabili smo strukturno različne alkil alkohole, tudi takšne, ki so vsebovali heteroatome, ki smo jih pretvorili v alkil jodide, ter jih nato uporabili pri reakciji spajanja s terminalnim alkinom. Pripravo alkil jodidov smo izvedli po poznanem postopku, za spajanje alkil jodidov s terminalnim alkinom pa smo uporabili nikljev katalizator, natančneje Ni(cod)2 in ustrezen ligand (PyBOX) za in-situ pripravo katalizatorja NiBOX. S pomočjo spektroskopskih metod (IR, NMR) smo spremljali pretvorbo reaktantov v produkte ter le te tudi karakterizirali. Na ta način smo pripravili 5 literaturno znanih alkil jodidov ter 1 nov alkil jodid in 1 nov alkinski produkt.

Title:Performing selected nickel (Ni)-catalyzed reactions under inert atmosphere and in anhydrous media
Abstract:
In this work, we focused on the synthesis and characterization of alkyl iodides that we reacted with terminal alkynes using a nickel catalyst. We found that the reaction to prepare alkyl iodides could be carried out with different alkyl alcohols, for example, some alkyl alcohols contained heteroatoms, alkyl alcohols that were differently branched etc. We tested the Ni-catalyzed reaction on two different alkyl iodides. The alkyl iodides were prepared using a procedure from the literature, and for the Ni-catalyzed reaction we prepared the nickel catalyst NiBOX in situ. In this way, we were able to prepare 5 alkyl iodides known from the literature as well as 1 new alkyl iodide and 1 new alkyne product.
