Practical work represents one of the most important ways of skill generating activities. Most of the subjects in student education in Department of Biology on Biotehnical faculty of University of Ljubljana include a lot of practical work. Students execute activites individually or in small groups throughout the whole educational process where they handle different tools and materials. Because of the Covid-19 epidemics the students could not carry out practical work in the classroom but they had to attend the practical work long-distance or online.
In The Thesis we disscused and researched the students' attitude toward practical work and their experiences with online practicals. We performed a survey on 158 students of four different educational programs, The first degree Study od Biology, and then second degree studies such as The study of Molecular and Functional Biology, The study of Ecology and Biodiversity and lastly The study od Educational Biology.
The research results are represented in the second part of The Thesis where we conducted that the students recognized that qualitiy of the practical work online were not equally effective in sense of attaining knowledge and skill. The Professors used a variety of teaching aproaches so the students still recognised some positve outcomes from the unusuall situation. The research also offers some insight on the importance of self efficacy belief and the assesment of self-competence, self-image of the students for the assesment and their experience with online practicals.
