In mid-March 2020, the first infections with the new coronavirus were discovered and confirmed in Slovenia. The first confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Slovenia coincided with the resignation and change of government of Marjan Šarec, which was succeeded by the government of Janez Janša. With the spread of the coronavirus, anti-COVID measures and the new Slovenian government, the Slovenian civil society also woke up. In Ljubljana, first appeared the group of Friday protesters, opposing the government's moves in general. Sometime later, the group of Wednesday protesters also appeared, protesting mostly against the government’s measures to stop spreading the virus. In my diploma thesis, I analyse the characteristics of the Wednesday protesters and their reasons for opposing vaccination against COVID-19. I compare my findings and results with the findings of similar research on anti-vaccinationism. I also present the influence of politics and the media or social networks, which I believe are main drivers of anti-vaccinationism.
