Abstract

Title:Intertextuality in the works of Katja Gorečan, Zoran Pevec and Kristian Koželj
Abstract:
In my thesis, I define the term intertextuality and shortly present its origins. Upon its formation, the term intertextuality marked a feature of every text, and later it became an immanent perspective within the works of literature. The term introduced a different and more comprehensive intertextual dimension of texts. Some earlier forms can be found even before its formation and are qualified as old quotational figures of speech and quotational forms, which I also defined in my thesis. The research part of the thesis is focused on the poetry of Katja Gorečan, Zoran Pevec and Kristian Koželj: three contemporary poets, born in Celje and its surroundings. The analysis of books Trpljenje mlade Hane, Neke noči neke deklice nekje umirajo, Hasidski pevec, Kako postati nihče and Muzej zaključenih razmerij brought forward a conclusion that three different poets intertextually refer to different sources, most commonly to famous works of literature, Greek mythology, biblical motifs and philosophy. References to less common sources are often marked in italics or as footnotes listing the source.
