Chronic low back pain is the most common pain in adults in the developed world. It is defined as persistent pain lasting more than 12 weeks, affecting about 20% of the world's population, and is the leading cause of global disability. Traditional Chinese medicine uses acupressure as one of the therapeutic modalities for pain relief. Due to the high prevalence of low back pain and the costs it entails, alternative treatments are increasingly being used. Acupressure is a feasible, effective, safe and inexpensive non-pharmacological treatment for chronic low back pain and can be considered the first non-pharmacological medical therapy. In this thesis, we used the descriptive method. The data was collected, reviewed and analysed. In writing the thesis, we used both domestic and foreign literature of various types (books, journal articles, monographs, proceedings). This master thesis presents the use of acupressure for chronic low back pain and the acupressure points used to relieve pain. We have shown that both body acupressure and auricular acupressure can be a suitable forms of treatment for chronic low back pain.
