In this diploma thesis, a development and construction of an interface to car taillight LED driver is presented. Hardware and software of the interface are described. The interface can communicate with various LED drivers that can be found on car taillight PCBs. Its purpose is to speed up the taillight testing process. First, an ICT/FCT machine selects taillight function to be tested. The ICT/FCT machine signals its command to the interface with a pulse on the selected input pins. The interface receives the command and adds the required settings. Then it transmits the command further to taillight LED driver which turns on LED diodes of the selected taillight function. For communication between the interface and the LED driver, I2C bus is used. Usage of the interface between the ICT/FCT machine and the LED drivers automates the process of selecting various modes of operation, thus making the testing procedure significantly faster.
