The bachelor’s seminar discusses the problem of typographical errors in subject headings. The errors represent a big issue because they make the search in the library catalog difficult for the librarians and the library users. Therefore, we must be aware of how often the typographical errors occur in the subject headings. With such information, the libraries can fix the errors and make the search system easier to use. The analysis sample consists of 2683 subject headings in the Slovenian language from COMARC/B 606. The results of the analysis have shown us that the typographical errors in the subject headings are not that common. We have only found 21 errors, which is less than 1 %. Implementation of the authority control of subject headings in COBISS 3 will make it possible that the typographical errors will be completely gone from the subject headings.
