V zaključni seminarski nalogi analiziram problem spomenika ujetega med vlogama materializacije kolektivnega in zgodovinskega spomina. Osredotočam se na t.i. namerne spomenike, torej na spomenike, ki so postavljeni z namenom, da bodo nosilci kolektivne (nacionalne) identitete, in na njihovo usodo v času velikih družbenih sprememb.

• Title: Monuments at the intersection of collective and historical memory. The significance of the monument and its fate in a time of social change

Abstract

In my undergraduate thesis I attempt to analyse the problem of the monument caught between the roles of materialization of collective and historical memory. I will focus on the so-called intentional monuments, by which I am referring to the monuments erected with the intention of being the bearers of a collective (national) identity, and on their fate in a time of great social change.
