This thesis aims to investigate burial urns with perforated bases recovered from the Pod Kotom-jug archeological site in northeastern Slovenia and contribute to better understanding of the complex mosaic of death-related practices during the 4th millenium BC. Introductory part deals with the finds from the Pod Kotom-jug cemetery within their culture-historical context and comparisons with other similar sites. Designation of »grave atributes« (hole in the base of a vessel, sex of the buried individuals and species of animal bones) and visualization of their spatial distributions take up the central part of the thesis. Observations on atribute distribution are presented in the results of the spatial analysis. In the end, attempts are made at a discussion on certain symbolic and functional aspects of perforating vessels and examples of such practices from different time periods and spaces.
