Abstract
V diplomski nalogi sem opisala razlike med načini kmetovanja nekoč in danes, njihove prednosti in slabosti. Danes so zaradi tehnološkega napredka in mehanizacije vsa dela opravljena mnogo hitreje in z veliko manj fizičnega dela kot včasih, ko so bili bolj odvisni od narave in so si kmetje med seboj bolj pomagali. Kmečkega življenja si ni bilo moč predstavljati brez pomoči sosedov in sovaščanov.

Title:Traditional practises in Slovenian agriculture
Abstract:
The way farms were managed in the 18th century was very different from the way they are managed today. In this paper we have described some of these differences and pointed out some of their advantages and disadvantages. Today, thanks to technological advances and mechanisation, all tasks are done much faster and with less physical labour than they were back then, when farmers were more dependent on the whims of nature, and when neighbouring farmers were much more likely to help each other than they are today. The life of a farmer was unimaginable without the help of villagers and neighbours. A peasant family counted many more members than it does today, because even people who worked on the farm and were not directly related to the peasant couple were considered family. The distribution of roles in the peasant family was also different in terms of gender and age. Women were usually, responsible for ancillary agricultural work in addition to housework, while men did the main agricultural work. Children learned farming from their elders and in this way participated in farm life.
