Valentina Pielich Negro, with the domestic name Tïna Wajtawa (1900-1984), was born in Ladina, Solvizzia (Resia, Italy). After 1960, Milko Matičetov (1919-2014) recorded 404 of Tïna’s fairy tales, but only 22 were published (including translations, 27); the recordings are kept at the ZRC SAZU. These fairy tales have the characteristics of spoken language in the literary context of storytelling. Her tales are stylistically marked by the linguistic characteristic of storytelling, the Resian language, and folk tales that are part of the European cultural context.
