The reason for this article is the first complete translation of France Prešeren’s poetry into Bulgarian, which appeared in 2021. The translator explains not only the importance of the main Slovene poet for Bulgarians, but also reflects on the transfer of linguistic and sociocultural context, as well as on his approach to Prešeren’s »speaking« in Bulgarian.
