Stress is always present in a person's personal and professional life and it becomes most
problematic, when it starts to endanger that person's health and wellbeing. The purpose of this
paper is to study stress at the workplaces of judges at particular selected district and regional
courts. For the theoretical part of this paper the method of studying domestic and foreign
literature and sources was used, the research part was written using the
comparative and interviewing methods. Results of the research have shown, that stress is present
in high amounts with the judges in selected courts, mostly because of work overload.
Because of these high levels of stress at the workplaces of judges, exhaustion is also high, which
negatively effects on an individual’s health condition and his/her work effectiveness.
Because of this, the judges try to lower the effect of stress by themselves, thus improving their
health and wellbeing, by taking multiple breaks during work, being physically active, organizing
their work more effectively, by performing relaxation exercises and taking care of their
self-image. Based on the results of the survey on previously chosen district and regional
courts, it is recommended that activities, which are directed and lowering stress at
these workplaces, are implemented, both by the individuals and the courts themselves on an
organizational scale, since doing that would ensure that such work is healthy and safe for all
those employed.
