Abstract

Title:
The importance of key competencies formed by student work during studies for career development
Abstract:
The main topic of this master's thesis are the key competencies that students get during their student work. A lot has been said about the given topic though I wonder if students are aware of the importance of gained competencies that are in the forefront when needed for regular employment and furthermore, which competencies are important to future employers in finding suitable employees. However, key competencies have changed over time so knowledge, skills and attitudes have been highlighted in the past. Critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration and creativity are the qualities expected by a contemporary employer. Kohont (2011) states that key competencies are basically worthless if the individual does not have acquired specific knowledge and experience for their implementation. The purpose of the master's thesis is to determine what are the key competencies acquired by students during their student work, in the form of which student works are formed, to what extent the latter contribute to gaining regular employment and what importance employers attach to competencies. The results will be able to benefit students when they decide what form of student work to look for, which competencies are important to acquire and how to transfer the latter into the form of regular employment.
