Abstract
Sodobna družba je prežeta s stresom in z njegovimi posledicami se sooča ves svet. Stres lahko vpliva tako na posameznikovo duševno in čustveno kot telesno zdravje. V delovnem okolju stres negativno vpliva na motiviranost, produktivnost in varnost pri delu. Stresa je med nami vse več in pri njegovem obvladovanju je zato pomembno razumeti, da ne moremo predvideti in nadzorovati vsakega stresorja, ki se pojavi v našem življenju, torej vsega, kar se nam dogaja, ne glede na izvor. Vendar lahko nadzorujemo naš odziv na doživljanje, to pa je spet odvisno od naših prepričanj o sebi in od tega, kako smo se sposobni soočati s trenutnimi okoliščinami. Pri spoprijemanju s stresnimi okoliščinami si lahko pomagamo tudi s čuječnostjo, ki pomeni zavedanje doživljanja na sprejemajoč, odprt ter radoveden način, brez želje po njegovem spreminjanju in izogibanju. Namen diplomskega dela je bil proučiti stres in čuječnost učiteljev v izbranih osnovnih šolah (Domžale, Mengeš in Trzin) in v povezavi s tem ugotoviti, ali obstaja povezanost stresa in čuječnosti v delovnem okolju učiteljev. Za ugotavljanje povezanosti smo si pomagali s statistično pomembnostjo (p-vrednost), s katero smo ugotavljali korelacijo med stresom in čuječnostjo med učitelji v izbranih osnovnih šolah. Ugotovili smo, da je p-vrednost nad 0,05, kar pomeni, da o povezanosti med stresom in čuječnostjo med učitelji na osnovnih šolah Domžale, Mengeš in Trzin ne moremo govoriti. V raziskavi smo prav tako ugotovili, da večina učiteljev v izbranih osnovnih šolah v delovnem okolju doživlja stres. Do tega podatka smo prišli z uporabo t-testa za enostranski vzorec, s katerim smo ugotovili, da je dejansko povprečje (3,43) višje od testnega (3). S t-testom za enostranski vzorec smo ugotavljali tudi čuječnost učiteljev v izbranih osnovnih šolah. Ugotovili smo, da je dejansko povprečje (2,61) nižje od testnega (3), kar pomeni, da ne moremo trditi, da je večina učiteljev v izbranih osnovnih šolah čuječnih.

Title:The correlation between stress and mindfulness among primary school teachers
Abstract:
The modern society is overrun by stress and the whole world is feeling the consequences. Stress can work negatively towards an individuals´ mental, emotional and physicall well being. In a workplace environment stress has been found to negatively impact motivation, productivity and safety. With the evergrowing amount of stress among us, we have to be aware that in trying to manage it we cannot predict and control every stressor that affects our lives, no matter what caused the stress in the first place. What we can do is control our reaction to stressfull experiences, which again varies based on our beliefs of ourselves and our capabilities of managing the given circumstances. A helpful tool when dealing with such issues can be mindfulness, which is the ability to experience situations in a way that is open, accepting and curious way, without trying to change or avoid them. In this Diploma thesis, the intention was to study the stress and mindfulness of teachers from the selected elementary schools (Domžale, Mengeš in Trzin) and then determine whether or not there is a connection between the two. To measure the correlation we calculated the statistical significance (p-value), which was above the 0,05 value which indicates that the correlation could not be determined. The research also showed that most of the teachers in the study experience stress in their place of work. This was confirmed by the one-tail t-test which showed that the measured average (3,43) was higher than the test average (3). The one-tail t-test also showed that the mindfulness value level of the selected teachers (2,61) was lower than the test (3).
