The implementation of a digital warehouse management system into a company brings about the use of software for the purpose of managing all the processes in the company. The
efficiency of the company is based on keeping track of the stock at all times, knowing the exact location of products and on the well-organized and optimized course of warehousing processes. It is true that this can be achieved without digitalization, but due to the size of the company, such tasks are impossible to perform, which leads to major problems. These problems, however, can be solved by implementing a digital warehouse management system.
Thesis presents and describes the implementation of a digital warehouse management system into a company. It describes storage facilities as well as currently existing workflow of warehousing processes and the problems company is facing. It suggests introduction of a new method and proposes a new method as well as the selection of optimal technology and appropriate equipment. Furthermore, a new approach to implementation of storage processes is described and measurements are provided which show that introduction of the system saves time in the workflow. Calculation of monthly savings, projections of return on investment and duration of instalment payment period show that such system is a reasonable and sensible investment.
