Metoclopramide and valsartan are active substances that have a very low bioavailability after oral administration. In order to increase bioavailability new delivery systems are being developed including buccal films. As part of the master's thesis, we studied the influence of individual excipients on the mechanical properties of films and the rate of release of the active ingredient from them. The formulations that exhibited the desired properties were released on three different devices and the results were compared with each other. Thereupon we evaluated the quality of the films using image analysis. We also used the MODDE program and focused our search on factors that have a significant influence on the properties of the formulations.
