In interpreting two poetry collections, Tina Kozin's Nebo pod vodo (The Sky Underwater) and Brane Mozetič's Banalije (Banalities), I first present four methods, ways, directions or orientations of contemporary literary interpretation: gender identity theory, queer theory, postclassical narrative theory and affective hermeneutics. When comparing two different books, I point out the following similarities: the quality expression of emotions, which avoids pathos through several new approaches, anxiety of being as an important part of the poem's mood, and innovative concentration of the poetic expression.
