The aim of this bachelor's thesis was to determine the reliability of chlorophyll concentration assessments using satelite images in the Adriatic Sea.
We used two different types of data - actual measurements of chlorophyll concentration, acquired using measuring instruments, and values calculated from the magnitudes of light at various wavelengths, captured by satellites. We joined the data based on time and location, then correlated the concentrations of actual and predicted values. If the values were sufficiently similar, we concluded that the method of chlorophyll concentration detection using satelite images is suitable for monitoring primary production and water quality in the Adriatic Sea.
